Inc. magazine, founded in 1979 and based in New York City, is an American monthly publication focused on growing companies.

The magazine publishes annual lists of the 500 and 5000 fastest-growing publicly held small companies in the U.S., called the "Inc. 500" and "Inc. 5000".

Small businesses are privately owned corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietorships that have fewer employees and/or less annual revenue than a regular-sized business or corporation.
