Navratri (literally "nine nights"), also spelled Navaratri or Navarathri, is a multi-day Hindu festival celebrated in the autumn every year.

It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian subcontinent.

Theoretically, there are four seasonal Navratri.

However, in practice, it is the post-monsoon autumn festival called Sharad Navratri that is the most observed in the honor of the divine feminine Devi (Durga).

It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (Full Moon day) falling in the Vikram Samvat Hindu Calendar month of Phalgun, which falls somewhere between the end of February and the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar.

The first evening is known as Holika Dahan or Chhoti Holi and the following day as Holi, Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Dhulandi, or Phagwah.

Bhojpuri (Devanagari: भोजपुरी) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand region of North India and in Terai region of Nepal.

It is chiefly spoken in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh, in the western part of Bihar state, and in the northwestern part of Jharkhand in India.

Bhojpuri is one of the recognized national languages of Nepal and has official status in Fiji as Fiji Hindi.

It is also a recognized language in Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, and Mauritius.

Chhath (Devanagari: छठ, छैठ, छठी, छठ पर्व, छठ पुजा, डाला छठ, डाला पुजा, सूर्य षष्ठी) is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar of India and the Madhesh of Nepal.

The Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun and his wife Usha in order to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.

This festival is observed by Indian people, along with their diaspora.
