The University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington or UTA) is a public research university located in Arlington, Texas.

The campus is in the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, and is adjacent to downtown Arlington.

The university was founded in 1895 and was in the Texas A&M University System for several decades until joining The University of Texas System in 1965.

The University of North Texas (UNT), is a public research university based in Denton with programs in natural, formal, and social sciences, engineering, liberal arts, fine arts, performing arts, humanities, public policy, graduate professional education, and post-doc research.
