Landmark College is a private college located in Putney, Vermont, which offers two and four-year programs in the liberal arts and in professional disciplines.

Landmark College is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and provides to students a progressive and comprehensive overall college experience.

Established in 1985, Landmark College was the first institution of higher learning to pioneer college-level studies for students with dyslexia.

Today it serves students who have a diagnosed learning disability (such as dyslexia), or other learning difficulties such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Landmark College offers degrees at the associate and bachelor’s levels, as well as summer programs and an online/hybrid graduate certificate in universal design and assistive technology for educators and professionals.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder Confidence: 85% Arrow up

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental disorder of the neurodevelopmental type.

It is characterized by problems paying attention, excessive activity, or difficulty controlling behavior which is not appropriate for a person's age.

These symptoms begin by age six to twelve, are present for more than six months, and cause problems in at least two settings (such as school, home, or recreational activities).

In children, problems paying attention may result in poor school performance.

Although it causes impairment, particularly in modern society, many children with ADHD have a good attention span for tasks they find interesting.

Learning disability Confidence: 79% Arrow up

Learning disability is a classification that includes several areas of functioning in which a person has difficulty learning in a typical manner, usually caused by an unknown factor or factors.

Given the "difficulty learning in a typical manner", this does not exclude the ability to learn in a different manner.

Therefore, some people can be more accurately described as having a "Learning Difference", thus avoiding any misconception of being disabled with a lack of ability to learn and possible negative stereotyping.

Education Confidence: 73% Arrow up

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.

Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research.

Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves.

Education can take place in formal or informal settings and any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational.

The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.

Autism spectrum Confidence: 69% Arrow up

Autism spectrum or autism spectrum disorder describes a range of conditions classified as neurodevelopmental disorders in the DSM-5, published in 2013.
